Classic Meets Jazz

Thursday promises to be a full evening’s program in which classical and jazz play the leading role. We honor the age-old but unfortunately underexposed bond between the two music styles and connect jazz fanatics with lovers of classical music. Under the direction of jazz pianist and composer Peter Beets, The New Jazz Orchestra presents an amazing repertoire in which jazz and classical alternate and reinforce each other, a repertoire where Chopin and the Blues meet and in which we magnificently showcase the musical connection between the two styles.

The New Jazz Orchestra accompanies a variety of classical and jazz musicians and guest soloists, including trumpeter and composer Eric Vloeimans and internationally acclaimed cellist Jörg Brinkmann.
